Written test at a DriveTest centre covering road signs, rules of the road, and safe driving practices.
A road test assessing basic driving skills including parking, turns, intersections, and residential driving.
Advanced road test including highway driving, expressway merging, and complex intersection navigation.
Examiners watch for shoulder checks before every lane change and turn. Make it obvious — turn your head.
Stay within 5 km/h of the posted limit. School zones require extra attention — slow down early and smoothly.
Avoid jerky movements. Smooth stops, gradual acceleration, and hand-over-hand steering show confidence and control.
Practice parallel, reverse, and forward parking until consistent. Use reference points and take it slow.
Come to a complete stop behind the line. Pause, look left-right-left, then proceed. Rolling stops are an automatic fail.
Practice on roads near your DriveTest centre. Familiarity with the area reduces anxiety and improves performance.
